"No More Silence" Music Project

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Javina. I am fundraising for the "No More Silence" Music project.

I would like to raise £5,500.00 to fund the project described below.
For those looking to make a larger donation, I am providing a few special editions and limited release rewards in the capacity of officially signed 'No More Silence' merchandise or a signed limited edition copy of the track.

Mission statement : ‘I use my voice to break the restrictions that others face. My voice, your voice, our voice, can make a change.’ Please see my video at this link.

Javina Greene founded the No More Silence project in the early months of this year (2022). This project aims to raise awareness of suppressed communities and vulnerable people, namely those affected by domestic abuse, drug and alcohol addiction, and sexual exploitation. The project also aims to campaign for changes within current legislation and systems in place, creating better support and opportunities for those in need. Javina has recently been given permission and funding from her local councillor's body. This will enable the project to expand into creating a safe space for women and vulnerable communities while also providing relevant support, resources, and activities.
The current aim for this project stage is to fund and create the music video for the campaign anthem, ‘No More Silence. So far, Javina and her team have completed most of the pre-production planning process, with the location, cast, script and track all available and set to film over the 16th and 17th of October this year. Most of the production team and cast have known those who have experienced some of the tragedies above and struggles. This all leads to why Javina created this project and her album. As a victim of drug addiction, domestic abuse, and sexual exploitation, she profoundly understands those who experience these horrific situations. Six and half years ago, she decided that living in constant fear would no longer be a part of her daily life.

With support from various charities and agencies, Javina overcame her addiction and escaped her abuser. The source of Javina’s hope during these times was music. She used this to help herself escape into her dreams, envisioning performing her own tracks on stage and inspiring others with her story. Throughout Javina’s recovery, she used music and rapping to talk about her experiences, creating voice notes on her phone whenever inspiration would strike.

A quote that Javina uses to explain this comes from one of her role models Whoopie Goldberg in the film ‘Sister Act,’ when she tells another character, "If you wake up in the morning and all you can do is sing, then that’s what you’re meant to do."
Javina is now studying a degree-level course at The Academy of Contemporary Music in Birmingham to study Music Production. When she produced the first version of her track, "No More Silence," it was recorded from her home with just a microphone and a laptop. Javina’s goal for this project is to create a safe space studio and center called ‘FAM’ (Females about Music). She is already building a community within her university, with other women meeting and helping each other grow and learn in a calm, secure space for women.

Skills and development for project FAM (Females about Music)

The session will form the idea of the FAM (Females about music) skills and development project. Encouraging more women to feel comfortable and safe in a professional environment. Also, encouraging women into the roles of producers and audio sound engineers. Using the Summerfield studios, I think it could inspire, teach and enhance existing skills and create a networking platform for women.

I was privileged to attend and have a one-to-one meeting with the manager of summer fields studios in Birmingham. This studio is linked to the Miloco franchise.
I spoke to the manager about getting aspiring producers and artists to come into the studio for work experience within a professional working studio. He explained that this would not be possible due to changes in the industry. However, he did have students from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire who paid for 6-hour slots to learn within the professional studio environment.

COSTS

£250 - 6 hour session for up to 10 students per session (however, we feel 6-8 students are better for learning)
£100 - a technical engineer that the studio will provide.
Total - £450 including VAT

One session per month for three months
£1350 including VAT

£200 contingency funds
