Hi! A few people have asked me to put a GoFundMe page up so here it is!

In Jan 2024 my little car was hit by a monster sized SUV & what I had hoped would be relatively minor injuries have turned into life changing Brain Trauma that even broke my Septum inside my skull along with a shopping list of assorted “minor” injuries that turned out not to be so minor. The staff at the Urgent Care in South Calgary were brilliant & we’re so good at helping me stay calm while I was ‘trapped’ in the spine and neck stabiliser. I have surgery in January to fix my nose so I can breathe properly which should really help my recovery accelerate.

I’m grateful that I have been given a 1 in 3 chance of a full recovery & am focused on that as it came so close to zero. I still have flashbacks of staring at the tarmac rushing towards me as my car was rolling over sideways after spinning several times while multiple airbags were exploding in my face and playing hot potato with my head. It was terrifying. I was so grateful when the rolling stopped and the car uprighted itself with one final slow spin. Alive, even if I am currently less than I was, is still profoundly better than dead. I still have things to do in life. People I love & want to be here for.

i am also learning to accept help when offered, which has been a hard lesson for someone as independent as I am. I am getting some disability pay but if anyone would care to honour me with a donation to help me keep up with monthly bills, transportation to medical /therapy appointments, housekeeping, dietician & coaching, speech therapy, or the occasional fancy salad at Bow Tie Pizza I would be grateful & look forward to when I can pay it forward in a few years.
