Help Erin Fight Aggressive MS with Life-Changing Treatment
We're the Bad Moms and here to raise funds for fellow Bad Mom, Erin Mohr. Erin is the kind of person who helps everyone—often quietly, without asking for recognition. She’s a kindergarten teacher with 20 years of experience, a zest for life, a unique way of seeing the world, and a heart that shows up for kids, friends, and families every single day.
Now, Erin needs help.
Erin was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Multiple Sclerosis in February 2025—a type that does not respond well to standard treatments and continues to rapidly progress. There is no cure for MS, there are only treatments to slow or halt the progression and side effects. After exploring every possible option, her medical team has recommended a stem cell transplant, offering the best chance to halt her progression.
The Stem Cell Transplant is life-changing—and time-sensitive as this treatment is best done before further neurological damage occurs and she is no longer eligible. It will also preserve her quality of life moving forward.
Unfortunately, Erin was not accepted into the initial study she applied for. She is now pursuing treatment at Northwestern, where she must pay a substantial amount out of pocket while simultaneously fighting with insurance for coverage. The financial burden is overwhelming—and the clock is ticking.
What the Road Ahead Looks Like
- A hospital stay of approximately 90 days
- Aggressive chemotherapy followed by stem cell transplant
- Lost income during a long recovery period as she will be unable to teach for the remainder of the school year
- Significant medical bills not fully covered by insurance
- Travel, lodging, and living expenses during treatment
Despite all of this, Erin remains hopeful, strong, and determined. She continues to face this journey with honesty, courage, and the same spunky spirit that everyone who knows her loves so deeply. She has shared her journey openly on Facebook and CaringBridge—not for sympathy, but to help others feel less alone.
