No Mercy (boxing film)
Hi, my name is Louis Findlay, I'm an Actor from London. I have always loved being behind the camera as much as I love being infront of it. I was always intrested in cameras and writing stories as a kid but as I got older I fell into acting. However, I have always been writing and producing my own little films when I haven't been working as an actor. In fact, my first short film - Days To Come - based on my own experiences with anxiety and depression recently won several awards In Europe and America. I even scooped up the "Best Actor" award at the Actor Awards Los Angeles earlier this year, a very surreal moment (I didn't think the film would get chosen).
So, let's talks about No Mercy. No Mercy is a feature length boxing film written by myself that follows a fighter called Reece as he prepares for his first title fight. However, tragedy strikes and he feels as though he can no longer go ahead without the help and support of his coach and throws in the towel. With just a few months to go, his partner Tina and best friend Georgie are determined to get him back in shape and on the right track with the help of a new trainer, all whilst rekindling his relationship with his estranged mother.
I'm really proud of this story and I can't wait to tell it. I have always wanted to tell a boxing film that's unique and believe due to its technicality we are able to do so.
Not only am I playing the lead but I am also directing the movie.
I have already invested my own money by buying camera and sound equipment but alas the budget we were able to raise could only take us so far.
We need to raise more money in order to hire locations, buy food for filming days, purchase costumes for the actors and make sure their travel and accommodation is covered. A lot of the budget will be spent on lighting (believe it or not) and a professional lighting crew. Their job will be to light the ring properly at the studio to really bring the fight and scene to life. We're going for the Raging Bull look.
We also need to purchase hard drives in order to store the footage (there's going to be a lot) and have someone master the audio and create some iconic music to compliment the film.
We have already shot the first couple of scenes and relied heavilly on peoples generosity, favours, handouts and filming at locations after closing time.
After we finish filming, I will be editing the movie entirely by myself. Once complete, the movie will be submitted to film festivals worldwide and so we would be using some of the budget in order to cover the submission costs.
We aim to have a premier and invite everyone to come and see the film before its released to the public.
Our aim is to receive recognition from online streaming platforms such as ITunes, Amazon and Netflix where the film can be viewed anytime.
We thank you for taking the time to read our story and thank you in advance for what ever you can donate or simply sharing our campaign.
