I am fundraising for Aviation Officer Candidate School (AOCS) Drill Instructor, Master Gunnery Sergeant (MGYSGT) Douglas Kerr because his home and everything he owned was destroyed in a house fire on March 19th, 2023.

As you all know, we Warriors have no problem sacrificing for others but accepting help and gratitude can often be difficult because we live a life of self-reliance. I reached out to Doug and received his permission to organize a GoFund Me account on his behalf.

Doug had paid off all his debt including his mortgage, but Doug did not have homeowners' insurance. I know what you are thinking, what a hard lesson! Trust me, he is thinking it too. Doug is now living in a decades-old RV on his ranch still taking care of his horses.

Currently Doug is digging lines for new utilities and a septic system to connect to his RV.

Doug was an AOCS Class Drill Instructor from 1982 - 1984. Doug's career in the Marine Corps spanned 27 years. From 1972 - 1999, most of his time in aviation working on jet fighters.

Doug lost his wife Koda to cancer a couple of years ago and now is facing yet another hurdle to live a comfortable life and take care of his horses, a dog and a bird.
