We are Dinesh & Tanja. We have family and a recently opened Hotel in Weligama (Lucky Monkey Inn & Restaurant). Many of our loved ones live in the Highlands, the region hit hardest by Cyclone Ditwah.

What we hear and see from there is heartbreaking: entire villages washed away, families displaced, children without food, and communities left with nothing but the clothes they were wearing when the storm struck.

We are happy to share a concrete update on our Sri Lanka Highland fundraising campaign.

The funds raised will be donated directly to the Gayathri preschool (preliminary school) - Yuriwatte in Passara, which is also listed in the official needs assessment.

What will the donation be used for?

The contribution will go entirely toward furniture, learning materials, and basic equipment that the children urgently need.

Our fundraising goal:

➡️ 2,800 EUR (1,000,000 Sri Lankan Rupees) for preschool equipment

We are very close to reaching this goal, which we are incredibly grateful for.

At the same time, we kindly ask for a few final donations to fully complete the project.

Once the equipment has been purchased and delivered, we will happily share photos and videos showing the preschool and the real impact your support has made.

Every contribution – big or small – makes a real difference and goes directly to where it is needed most: the children.
