As many may already know, Joel Showers, a staple of every bar and club on 10th St for decades, left this earth on Wednesday, April 29th. In the end, Joel was suffering and ended up being taken to the emergency room and was admitted on Tuesday, April 22. Unfortunately, this former life of the party had absolutely no life insurance, and even worse, he had no blood relatives left. All he had was his best friend, who took him to all of his Dr appointments, did his banking, paid his bills, and tried to help him with everything he possibly could. Because Joel has no living relatives, his best friend is taking on the responsibility to make sure Joel is honored with final arrangements. This will be costly because he will need to pay for his cremation, a future celebration of life, as well as handling legal issues for what little he owned, but this has to be done through a lawyer.
