The No Data Center Rural Hall community group is working to protect our town from the significant and long‑term harms posed by a proposed hyperscale data center. We are raising funds to cover essential outreach materials — including T‑shirts, posters, and flyers — so we can effectively inform residents. Our initiative advocates for a sustainable future for our children, our natural world, and a small town that is proud of its motto "Garden Spot of the World".
The proposed hyper scale data center threatens to impact every part of our community. The proposed facility would introduce toxic emissions, persistent noise, and intense light pollution into directly adjacent residential neighborhoods, our near-by elementary school, local churches, our public park, and small businesses. These risks extend beyond daily disruption: they endanger the long‑term health of our children and older adults, harm wildlife, destroy historic farmland, increase electricity rates, and reduce property values for everybody.
