Hello my name is Alexandra Harbinson. I am a mother of a sweet little boy named Emerson Hardy and he is 5 years old. He was diagnosed with Autism level 2 in 2022 ,then diagnosed again to a level 3 in May 2023. Emerson has been facing challenges when it comes to his schooling and along with other health issues . After many schools told us they weren’t able to take Emerson on as a student due to safety of himself and other children, until a miracle happened and ignite behaviour services took him on for ABA schooling. Due to Jordan Principal being backlogged Emerson at risk of loosing his services they provide him.

These services mean the world to Emerson and our family as if it wasn’t for them we wouldn’t have found out about his feeding problem, speech therapy , Occupational therapy and so much more. Since being in this program Emerson been progressing so much just as learning how to hang his jacket each morning ; learning how to communicate and learning day to day routines as he craves it so much. He now self harms a lot less due to these changes and we are hoping to continue as he is happy where he is and actually looks forward to going to school each day.

For 1 month the cost is 17,000

and for the year the cost is 204,000. This has been a challenge for us to find funding and that’s why I am starting this hoping to reach out to his community as it takes a community to help raise a child and to bring awareness for families with autistic children and not getting the support they need to strive in life. As it their basic human right to education.
