I am raising money for Save the Children because all too often we take the basics of food, shelter, and safety for granted. Yet for millions of children around the world, these are far from guaranteed. Every day, 45 million children under five suffer from malnutrition, and over 200 million children live in conflict zones where survival itself is uncertain. For them, childhood isn’t about learning, playing, or dreaming it’s about trying to survive.
By supporting Save the Children, we don’t just provide essentials for today we give children hope for a brighter, safer, and healthier future. Every donation can help provide meals, vaccinations, shelter, education, and protection from harm, offering a lifeline to those who need it most world wide.
This cause is deeply personal to me. As I’m following in the footsteps of my grandfathers, whose lives were defined by generosity and community. My paternal grandfather, Atma Singh Gill, built a school in India while also opening an eye clinic for homeless and underprivileged communities and helped pay for cataract treatments for those who couldn’t afford them. My maternal grandfather, Gurcharan Singh, raised £35,000 for the Parkinson’s Disease Society, local charities for the elderly, and Meadow House Hospice. Their legacies are a constant reminder that even one person can make a lasting difference and inspire others to do the same.
Today, I hope to carry that spirit forward by running a marathon in march raising funds for Save the Children, with the ultimate goal of making an impact in their lives, because no child should ever have to fight for the basics we often take for granted.
