Rosanna has been avoiding foods with added sugar for six weeks to raise money for Wildlife Aid Foundation (24th February to 6th April), who are a Surrey-based charity dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of British wildlife.
Rosanna chose to become a vegetarian (like her older sister) over a year ago when she turned 7, and she helps care for a cat and four guinea pigs at home. She wanted to raise money to help animals. A year ago we adopted a Badger through Wildlife Aid Foundation, and we have since watched some of Joanna Page's Wild Life on BBC2, that feature her time at the charity learning to be a rescue volunteer. So Rosanna chose this charity to support.
Rosanna's rules
- No foods with added sugar as a key ingredient (ie biscuits, cakes, chocolate, sweets, ice cream etc)
- No fruit juice
- She is allowed fruit, berries and honey (ie yoghurt and honey instead of sweet pudding at school lunch)
- Pancake day was a planned day off!
Please do support her! Sugary foods are all around - like when brownies are handed out after hockey fixtures, delicious puddings on offer after lunch at school or cake at birthday parties - and it can be hard to find non-sugary things to eat in cafes or at snack stops when travelling. So this has been a hard journey for her!
And the funds will be so well used by Wildlife Aid Foundation!
