SPICES DANCE COMPANY Tour to London, England

Hi, my name is Cheryl Vincent. I am a Registered Nurse, Recording artist, past member of Spiceisland Youthquake Grenada, member of Quake USA Cultural Organization in Brooklyn, NY, Community Organizer.

The purpose of this gofundme is to help raise funds for Spices Dance Company for their upcoming Tour to London, England.

Spices Dance Company is a non-profit organization based in Grenada, founded by Susan Jones-Benjamin, and has been in existence for more than twenty years. Over the years they have evolved from being more than a dance group, and has now incorporated folk singing, drumming, theater, visual arts, and soft skills. They have represented Grenada regionally, performing in St. Vincent and Trinidad. Recently, they received an invitation for a Program Exchange from the IRIE Dance Theater in London, England, to visit, work with, and tour the local community of South East London in of August 2023. The three week tour will include lots of activities including events, workshops, coreographic sessions, local and regional visits, and performances. This is a great opportunity for the young people of Grenada to not only travel abroad and see and experience the bigger world, but to also meet new people, learn and share ideas with other creatives, as well as showcase our culture through the arts as young cultural ambassadors. An opportunity like this will do so much to help develop their self confidence, and in the long run help them make meaningful contribution to our communities and cultural landscape.
