Update: Sam is awake!! As wonderful as that is, recovering is still a process! Once he meets certain criteria, he will sent to an out of state rehabilitation center to recover from his brain injury… focusing on his physical, occupational & speech therapy! The family is doing their part to make sure he gets the very best care possible!! However, the family will take on the costs of traveling back & forth out of state to see Sam during his recovery at the facility! I’m continuing this fundraiser to help them facilitate all this! MPD is taking care of Sam, let’s take care of the family!

With the family’s permission, I’m starting this fundraiser to help Officer Sam Mills. Sam was hit by another driver while on duty last Sunday morning (8/6/23). Sam is a public servant employed by Memphis Police Department. At this time Sam has not regained consciousness. He was transported to Regional One Trauma Unit(The Med) & is in critical, but stable condition. He had multiple lacerations, fractured skull, small brain bleed & other issues that can not be fully determined until he regains consciousness. His mom & sister (who is also law enforcement) are traveling back & forth to the hospital to spend every moment available with Sam. In between visits, they are tending to Sam’s other needs… paying his bills, tending to his house, finding temporary placement for his dogs, etc. So many have come forward to share stories of how Sam is so good to others…. Let’s help ease the financial burden on this family while they help him recover! Show his family how much we love & appreciate our law enforcement & the selfless job they do!
