Update: Surgery went well! I do look a bit "different" though lost some mass and a "part" and had full reconstructive surgery so everything matches. I'm resting and dozing on and off and will have my post-op and bandage change Wednesday and then another follow-up with the plastic surgeon Friday to see how everything looks. Once all the flesh they removed is tested I'll find out what my next steps are. Hoping this will be it though and I can get back to life in 6 weeks! Thank you all
Hi friends and family
As you may or may not know, our 10 year old daughter Keeley broke her back (L2 Spine Compression Fracture) during a swinging accident at school on April 10th. I was already off work because I was sick and was scheduled for sinus surgery. I cancelled my surgery to stay home and take care of her obviously.. Then on May 10th, while I was still off work, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and am scheduled for surgery this Friday June 14th, and will have a 6 week recovering time in which I cannot do anything as far as work goes. Assuming the surgery goes well and they are able to remove all the cancer, I "should" be able to return to teaching art in my new hometown in Iowa possibly by the start of the next school year. Fingers crossed! I need the kiddos just as much as they need me!!
As if all that wasn't enough, my car broke down so I had to get a new one in the middle of all this.
To say my plate is full is an understatement. And to say we're financially strapped is a tragic understatement. And the medical bills haven't even started to cone in yet for me, or Keeley. I haven't worked since April 4th, and Brian has literally burned through ALL his vacation and PTO.
I set this up so that if friends and family would like to help monetarily they can. Please don't feel obligated though, I know we're all going through tough times.
Thank you in advance. All the love and well wishes are BEYOND appreciated! Thankfully Keeley has since healed up great and is out of her back brace and doing well!
