Love for Lyla

Lyla Hopkins is a sweet, vibrant 10 year old girl from Elberta, AL. Her family’s life has been shattered recently as she has been diagnosed with diffuse midline glioma (DMG). She is currently being treated at Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham where she has had an amazing team of doctors so far that are working quickly and efficiently to help give them some good treatment options. She and her family will travel back to Birmingham today with plans to meet with her team tomorrow to discuss all the treatment options and plan of care. This page has been created in hopes of helping relieve the financial burden and the stress that comes along with such a devastating diagnosis. We want both of her parents, Elaina and Haden, to be able to be present with her without the stress of how they will provide for their family and pay for the medical treatment she will need. She also has a little sister, Lilo age 7. We will be posting updates on her Facebook page, Love for Lyla, as they come. We ask that you follow along there, but most importantly that you continue to join us in prayer daily for sweet Lyla and her family. They need prayers for peace, comfort, strength, and wisdom. Please pray for her medical team that God will give them all the answers that they need to care for her, according to His will. Please pray for a miracle! Unfortunately, treatment options for this type of cancer are limited. The tumor is inoperable due to the location and medication options are limited. She will likely begin radiation and then potentially join a clinical trial with an experimental drug. We ask that you pray for wisdom for her family as they choose which clinical trial they would like for her to become a part of if she qualifies for more than one. We serve a faithful, powerful God who is capable of miracles! Miracles happen every day! We are praying fervently that Lyla will be one of those miracles!
