Family In Need For The Holidays

There is a family in need for the holidays. As they have never been well-off, they have never asked for handouts.
The couple has 5 children and live in a 2 bedroom apartment in the South Bronx. They have slept on their living room floor for quite some time until as of late (a sleeper sofa was donated). The mother was injured and has been unable to work. Short term disability just expired. She is considering going back to work prematurely to make rent and put food on the table. A few days after Thanksgiving, their apartment's gas went out. As they heat the building with oil, gas is used for cooking. The landlord supplied the family with a hot plate to cook. One hot plate to cook for 8 people.
Christmas comes each year as a challenge. As times have been tougher than ever for this family, I thought it would be nice to provide them with the funds to give their children a Christmas all children deserve. Anything you could do to donate will go a long way for this family. I will have this up for only a week to give them enough time to shop.
