Road to Recovery

On October 7, 2023, my life took an unexpected turn when I was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident. Traveling at 75 miles per hour, I collided with a guardrail after my motorcycle's brakes failed, resulting in life-altering injuries. Though I am fortunate not to remember the impact itself, the aftermath has been a challenging journey. I woke up in the hospital, in need of 6 bags of blood to stabilize my condition. The extent of my injuries is staggering:

I fractured every limb in my body, except for my left leg, which still sustained multiple abrasions. My right leg required metal rods to stabilize the broken bones, and both my arms were fractured, with my left arm needing plates to hold the bones in place.

I also suffered five fractured ribs, a broken pelvis that was repaired with screws.

A skull fracture, fortunately not requiring surgery but necessitating a neck brace for 6-8 weeks.

During my initial stay in the hospital, I underwent six surgeries to piece my body back together. I spent five days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and an additional 16 days in the trauma unit, totaling 21 days in the hospital. Afterward, I was moved to my mother's house for care, provided by my sister and mother. I will remain bedridden for at least another six weeks as I continue my healing process. My injuries are still too severe for me to begin rehabilitation.

In the midst of this challenging recovery, I am facing the financial burden of being unable to work.

I hold a part-time position at Apple as an operation specialist and work as a tattoo artist. Due to my current condition, I will not receive compensation, and my bills will continue to accumulate. This is a difficult step for me, as I am usually a private and independent person, but I am reaching out for help with an open heart.
