Support Michael's Heart Transplant Journey

You may know Michael as a teammate from basketball, softball, pickleball, tennis, or golf. Maybe he's your fishing buddy or a past or current coworker from school. Perhaps he’s Koolaid from Rainy River and Augsburg or Michael you grew up with in New Orleans.

The Michael we know best is a dedicated, loving father, husband, grandad, and friend who has been so intentional about his community and connections over the years. Now, more than ever, we’re asking for your help to lean into that.

Over this past year, Michael has encountered numerous scary episodes resulting in the need for multiple hospitalizations due to his chronic heart failure. Michael is currently in the hospital, where he will stay until he receives a heart transplant. We are asking for your help during this incredibly challenging time.

As Michael prepares for this life-saving procedure, we want to ensure that he and Laura have the support and cushion through all the uncertainty and unexpected expenses that may arise.

We are kindly extending our hand in asking for your support to create a safety net for them during this critical time. Your generous contributions will be used to:

Provide meals to the family, which will be one less thing to worry about as Laura continues to work full time while supporting Michael in the hospital.

• Travel expenses: to cover the cost of plane tickets and accommodations for Michael’s family who are out of state and want to surround Michael with love.

• Offer a financial cushion: to help ease the burden of unexpected expenses, allowing Laura to focus entirely on supporting her husband during this time, and providing Michael with the financial security as he is taking months off of work.
