Hi, my name is Mike and I started this gofundme for my daughter Kayla.
Kayla is a 12 year old soccer player. She has been playing since she was 4 years old, and is very passionate and committed to playing. Kayla does some sort of soccer training event 7 days a week, and always puts out 100%. (And on top of that is a straight A student, making the high honor roll!)
For the past couple of years she has played up with older age groups, and last summer she played on a 2007 summer select team. (That means girls are 15 years old she was playing with!) This winter she played with another 2007 winter select team, starting in all games, and as of right now, she's one of the only kids to score in every single game, and the team is currently undefeated.
Kayla also plays for her regular club and is on the NJ Olympic Development Team.
Two weeks ago I was approached by her 2007 coach about a tournament in July she is handpicking a group of 2007 girls to compete in, and through Kaylas hard work, commitment and skill level, feels she has earned the opportunity to be apart of this team.
As it turns out, the tournament is the Gothia World Youth Cup in Sweden. (Gothia Cup is the world's largest and most International youth football tournament. Each year, around 1700 teams from 80 nations take part and they play 4500 matches.)
This is an amazing opportunity for my daughter, especially since she will be competing in the 2007 age group.
Financially, this is a costly trip, with the majority being on airfare for the 9+ hour flights.
I'm hoping to raise enough to help offset some of the costs.
I'm hoping that you would help make the dreams of a 12 year old come true and give her the opportunity of a lifetime that most kids will never get.
Thank you in advance!
