Hi, my name is Lyndsay McGuinness. My cousin Sarah Robinson, her daughter Madison May, and her mother Shirley Milligan need our help. I’m looking to raise $60,000 for her and her family during her transplant journey.

Sarah was just 17 years old when the doctors told her she had cirrhosis of the liver at no fault of her own. Since then she has struggled with this disease that impacted her daily life. After 18 years she finally received her new liver! She is currently recovering at the Cleveland Clinic and doing well.

My mission now is to help my family with the post transplant expenses. Many do not know, nor did I but a transplant alone costs up to $850,000 and the cost that accumulate after are endless. Medications post transplant can cost up to 20,000 annually.

Sarah lives in West Virginia and her mother (Shirley) lives in southern Ohio. While Sarah will be staying with me for the next 4 months, my aunt will have to travel back and forth from Cambridge to Cleveland frequently, and Sarah will have daily appointments at the Cleveland Clinic. This in itself is a struggle when she lives on a fixed income. In these unprecedented times her income will not allow for all of the travel and raising a teenager. Sarah also still has everyday bills like rent, truck payment and daily needs for Madison that she is not able to pay.

Getting the liver was the quite a journey and now we are in the fight of ours lives. Medical bills, medication, travel expenses, and raising a teenager on a fixed income is next to impossible. So this is why we need all the help we can get.

Any type of donation will be used towards travel for Shirley, food for Madison, and medical expenses for Sarah. On behalf of my family, I cannot thank you enough for your donation.
