During this isolation period, Nottingham Medics Rugby, as a collective, have set ourselves the challenge of running to Washington DC, to sort out the big orange oaf in charge. As a club, we plan on travelling the 5778km to the White House in the next ten weeks to get there for Independence Day.

This year, we have decided to support 3 charities throughout all our fundraising efforts. These charities were decided by the club and are as follows:
Mind
Mind is a charity dedicated to provide advice and support to empower anyone facing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. As we know, during these troubling times, mental health is of utmost importance, and so we have chosen Mind as one of our charities this year.
Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance
The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance is one of the UK’s leading Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) Charities, funded purely by charitable donations, as they are not part of the NHS and not funded by the government. Since the charity first began in 1994, they have undertaken over 20,000 potentially life saving missions. They are truly a wonderful group of people, and another one of the charities we are going to be supporting.
Nottingham Breast Cancer Research Centre
The Nottingham Breast Cancer Research Centre (NBCRC) brings together clinicians, scientists and researchers at the University of Nottingham and pathologists, oncologists, surgeons, radiologists and nurses from the Nottingham Breast Institute and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. The aim of the centre is to raise awareness of breast cancer and the research being conducted locally to combat it. This charity is obviously very close to many of the boys in the club, and so we have chosen it to be our 3rd charity for the year.
All money raised will be split evenly between the three charities above. We have set a total goal of raising 1000 pounds overall, so any donations you can give would be greatly appreciated!
