Juvenis Festival Launch

Help us launch the 2022 Juvenis Festival!

 

The Juvenis Festival is an 11-day long festival that takes place at the beginning of May. We give youth the opportunity to act, sing, dance, perform, and showcase their artistic talents, as well as take free workshops and masterclasses to build on their interests and skills in the arts. Everyone involved in this festival is under the age of 30, including all paid staff positions and participants. While our workshops are only open to youth, we invite audience members of all ages to take in Juvenis productions and events!

The impact of the Juvenis Festival is widespread with over 100 youth involved in our 2021 festival through events such as "Evil Dead: The Musical," Battle of the Bands and the Storefront Art Gallery. This year we expect over 200 youth to get involved through our youth-led projects, skill builder workshops, arts career series, volunteer program and staff. 

 

Both our 2020 and 2021 festivals took place 100% online, though the passion for the arts among Kingston's young arts community never wavered. Despite two challenging years, we have maintained our commitment to supporting the artistic pursuits of our youth artists and have stayed active through all the twists in turns. Though we are unsure of exactly what 2022 will bring, we are proud to work with our wonderful youth project leaders and are excited to welcome many more youth participants into our creative spaces.

 

We do our best to support our projects, but we rely on community support to really make the ideas of our youth artists come to life. It has been especially difficult to provide the necessary financial resources to our programs as we've tried to keep things especially accessible in the virtual world.

 

We know that our spirit and passion will remain strong but any amount that you would be able to donate would be greatly appreciated and is guaranteed to be put to good use! We sincerely thank you for your donation and appreciate any support you are able to provide whether it is financial or not.
