Hello amazing people my name is Scott, some of you might not know me, or some of you will, or you will know me as sh-tattooist or sh-music.

I start with saying this took a lot to even consider doing as I have always held my own, but I have come to the decision sometimes we need to ask for help. I actually need help in this time as my life has been turned upside down.

My social media community is a great space and the love and support you have all shown me throughout my online journey has amazed me in time of good health, but this is when I need it more than ever.

A year and half ago I was diagnosed with a disease called diverticulitis. The sad part is I have it chronically! it is a disease that attacks your lower bowel typically and is more common in older people above 50.

Im 34 years old with a young family. A 5 year old boy and 3 year old girl! And an amazing girlfriend, Clarrissa.

Over the previous year and a half I have been hospitalised and admitted multiple times due to this disease crippling me with pain where I am unable to move or even stand up straight, eat properly or have a decent quality of life. Out of these multiple admissions to hospital, I have had two ruptures, causing perforations in my intestine. This carried a major risk of going septic. I have had severe pain and suffering, with all four admissions to hospital being one week stays each time. That is four weeks laying in a hospital bed unable to do day to day duties, work or enjoy life with my children or contribute to society.

I made the hard choice after the fourth episode in late 2025 to have elective surgery to remove the damaged & diseased section of my bowel. This required major bowel surgery at such a young age. I had surgery on the 22nd of January 2026. This was meant to be a straight forward bowel resection that takes 2 hours, still painful but with no complications.

Unfortunately for me, surgeons ran into major complications and the surgery took 10 hours, which neither myself or the doctors & surgeons expected.

Due to complications and the surgery becoming too dangerous for my welfare to continue via robotic key hole surgery, surgeons had to open me up the middle of my abdomen to continue . I had woken with a stoma bag, and this is life changing. (Was not meant to be the outcome)

I now have to undergo a further two procedures and one major surgery over the next 4-5 months, followed with more recovery time ontop of that . This will leave me unable to create an income for around 6 months.

With the current cost of living, as I’m sure everyone knows, even having a little money put away, 5-6+ months off work is going to drain that quite quickly, and having myself, my partner & 2 children to support also, things will become extremely difficult to manage, even with my partner continuing to work full time.

It will be super hard during this time to stay afloat on my own while I undergo these procedures/major surgery and recovery time to get me healthy to go on with my life!

I am never one to ask for help, so know I’m at my lowest point in life right now. This unfortunate circumstance has humbled me to my core.
