Hi!

The cute dog above is named Misty, and you wouldn't know it by looking but she has had health problems for her entire life. My husband and I adopted her when she was 8 weeks old and within a few months we discovered she had severe food allergies. Thus began the difficult process of finding a food she could eat during which she lost most of her weight and some muscle mass. She was unable to climb stairs or jump onto the couch or bed, but eventually we found a food that made her happy and she was stable for a long time.

Skipping ahead to the present, Misty has been diagnosed with recurrent pneumonia and is pending more diagnostics with an internal specialist to get to the root of her case. From 3/2/23-3/7/23 Misty was hospitalized, requiring an IV tent for 5 days as well as constant monitoring and therapeutic practices like nebulizing and coupage 4 times a day. Needless to say, the cost of this has been astronomical and leaves my husband and me at a loss for how to cover it on our own.

We are recent college graduates with music degrees, having graduated in 2017 and 2019. I attained my Master's degree in 2020. To put it into perspective Misty has been through all of this with us! We adopted her in 2017 and since then she has moved with us from apartment to apartment, been there while we purchase our first home, and generally made life a little easier with her boundless energy. She means everything to us!

My husband and I have never asked for financial assistance - payment for our rent, our bills, new technology, cars, you name it has always come from our own funds ... So please know that we do not ask for help now lightly. With the fear of student loan repayment looming over our heads after the pause for COVID, we are looking into every option we have to eliminate the debt from this hospital bill so we can keep ourselves afloat.
