HELP KARSON HEAR!
KARSON’S STORY…
Hi! My name is Karson and I'm 15 months old. I am an active, energetic, and loving boy who easily makes the people around me happy with my beautiful smile and silly games. I like playing basketball with mommy(yes im a laker fan), making music, going to the park, and playing with other kids.
Besides all this, my mommy says I am a very strong boy because I was born with some serious health issues.
When I was in mommy’s tummy my ears didn't grow properly, so I have one big ear and one little ear. My little ear is the result of a condition called microtia, and I cannot hear out of my little ear because it is closed from another condition called atresia). Everyone knows how important hearing is for us kids - we use our hearing ability to develop language skills in order to communicate and learn each day!
Along with my microtia and atresia, my jaw didn't grow all the way from something called hemifacial microsomia.
One top of all that, when I was only 5 days old the doctors had to fix my heart with a procedure to open up my pulmonary valve due to something called pulmonary stenosis.
Please help me raise money for operations to get my jaw fixed, get a new big ear plus get a new ear canal so that I can hear properly. I appreciate every dollar that is donated from the bottom of my heart. It’s ok if you can’t donate, please share this post to let more people know about my fund.
MEDICAL DETAILS…
My name is Erica and I am the loving mother of Karson. Thank you for your interest in my son’s health - your time is appreciated! After doing extensive research I am raising money for “Medpor Reconstructive Surgery” for Karson along with a “Canalplasty” which will hopefully give him some hearing in his left ear.
Even with medical insurance, I will still need to come out of the pocket at least
$20,000 after copays, hospital fees, and all that other stuff that they add on.
Here is a breakdown of Karson’s medical issues for those who are interested:
About 1 out of 10,000 babies are born with Microtia. The word Microtia
translates to “small ear” and is a congenital condition in which the ear does not develop properly. Karson was born with microtia and atresia and is deaf in one ear.
Atresia, the absence of the external ear canal, is a birth defect that is almost always accompanied by abnormalities of both the middle ear bones in various degrees, as well as the external ear.
Karson was also born with Hemifacial microsomia, a congenital disorder that effects the development of the lower half of the face, most commonly the ears, the mouth and the mandible.
Thank you again for taking the time to meet Karson and please DONATE or SHARE to HELP KARSON HEAR!
