UKEClimb: Three Peaks Challenge
I am prticipating in the UKEClimb: Three Peaks Challenge. The challenge requires me to hike the 3 highest peaks in the UK and in addition to that I have pledged to raise funds for the Arusha Children's Trust (ACT) in Tanzania.
To explain: ACT has been working towards providing Arusha’s rural chil- dren and young adults with education at various levels. The trust was initiated by Ishbel Brydon of Scot- land with the support of Ole Supeet, the principal of a local primary school who has pushed for in- creased community participation in the centre. ACT’s vision for the children, teens and adults who benefit from their work is to assist them in four areas: education, preservation of traditional cultures, conservation and environmental awareness and health. Furthermore, the cost of supporting a student in a government secondary school (including uniform, books, stationery, educational trips etc.) is £165 per year. Considering ACT has a graduating class of almost 50 children per year, the trust must fork out large amounts of money as well as rely on additional donations each year.
My goal is to raise more than the minimum pledge set at £250 as the highest fundraiser will be sent to Tanzania for a 6 week volunteering program with ACT under AIESEC's internship program.
Do help me in my efforts! Every little bit counts!
p/s: To donate via this website, 5% of each donation would go to 'GoFundMe'. If you'd like all your donations to go to the cause itself, you can donate it to my personal UK account , Malaysian account, or paypal account. Please send me a private fb message and I will let you know my bank details.
Thank you in advance everybody!
