My almost 13 year old son has asked me to start a GoFundMe for our cat Mac. He is 5 and the sweetest cat. He needs a surgery that costs $3,000.

Sunday, Mac was unable to use the litterbox and was crying in pain.

I took him to the Animal Emergency Clinic. They said he had a urinary obstruction and suspected stones or crystals. They didn't find any or any infection. There was a lot of blood. They left the catheter in place until Tuesday. Then they waited for him to pee on his own so he could go home. He never did. They gave me the options of replacing the catheter, doing a PU surgery, or euthanasia. We are giving him a second chance with the catheter. We don't know if he will be able to pee on his own. They think he was born with this and has scar tissue. He needs the PU surgery to remove the scar tissue from his urethra. This surgery is specialized and only done at VSS. It has a high chance of fixing his problem so he doesn't have this problem anymore.

We have had Mac since he was a baby. We fostered his mom and litter of four kittens.

*** 9:39 pm Thurs vet called. Surgery is done. He's awake. They found 15 stones! They will be sent out to see what kind they are. Then we will be changing his diet.

** Thursday afternoon Radiologist found 2 stones. I went and visited him. They are prepping him for surgery now. If you are wondering apparently soft tissue surgeries start at $3000 these days. So no this surgery isn't any cheaper.

*Update the vet just called 11 am Thursday. She took another X-ray and she thinks she may see a bladder stone. She thinks the catheter may have pushed it back up and it could have been blocking him from peeing. She's taking more X-rays and sending them to the radiologist.

If that's the case he may no longer need the PU surgery and just a bladder stone removal surgery.
