Jack´s Legacy
Donation protected
In the early hours of 3rd July, our beloved son, brother and father Jack lost his battle against sepsis. He was 37 years old. He fought bravely, no doubt driven by the deep love he had for his children, but as some may know sepsis is quick, brutal and shows no mercy. Jack was immunocompromised as he suffered from rheumatoid arthritis and had already overcome so much adversity in his short life having undergone numerous operations and living in constant pain. He was bound to a wheelchair with limited mobility but that didn´t stop him from being a fantastic dad to his children, taking them out on day trips with us all, sharing his love for Sheffield Wednesday and being partial to a few Cheeky Vimtos on a night out! He never complained, just got on with it and did the best that he could with the hand that life had dealt him. So it feels exceptionally cruel that he was taken from us so soon and so unexpectedly. We are devastated, but we will remember Jack how he was, the memories he gave us all and what he taught us – that in the face of adversity, you live and appreciate every moment.
We have received such an outpouring of love and support from people around us and its been heart-warming to see just how much Jack was loved. People have asked how they can help and so we believe that creating this fundraiser will give people who knew and loved him a meaningful way to honour Jack’s memory, partly contributing towards his funeral costs, but more importantly to help support the two children he left behind aged 12 & 14 who have not only lost their dad but also a huge support for their future.
Thank you for your generosity and compassion.
We love you Jack, you will always be in our hearts. Your kids are a credit to you and your legacy lives on through them
