URGENT: 150+ Dogs at Immediate Risk Due to Government Culling in Lahore

We are writing with extreme urgency as we face a life-or-death crisis for over 150 rescued dogs currently under our care in Lahore, Pakistan.

Government dog culling has officially resumed across Pakistan, and Lahore is at the epicenter. Over the past two months alone, more than 8000 dogs have been killed as part of a government “clean-up” drive.

Despite landmark court rulings in 2025 that mandated humane population control through the Animal Birth Control policy, local authorities have returned to mass killings through shooting and poisoning.

Our shelter is now directly in danger.

We currently shelter 150+ rescued dogs, many of whom are injured, elderly, or disabled. Our facility is located on commercial land that has been earmarked for immediate road expansion, and we have received a one-month eviction notice. Once clearing begins, dogs in the area are routinely poisoned or shot. If we cannot relocate in time, these animals will not survive.

Why We Urgently Need PKR 4 Million

Our existing shelter is not suitable for relocation or expansion. To save these dogs, we must urgently establish a new sanctuary outside commercial zones, where they can live safely beyond the reach of culling operations.

The required PKR 4 million ( 23000 AUD) will be used for:

• Land securement in a safe, non-

commercial area

• Construction of secure kennels, perimeter fencing, and weather-proof shelters

• Safe relocation of over 150 dogs, including those requiring special medical handling

• Emergency supplies, including food and veterinary care during the transition
