Holidays in Kasoa, West Africa
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Tova Tomasi; I’m one of 27 (YES 27) adopted children given a second chance at life by a selfless woman from Williston Vermont. I was adopted, along with my three biological brothers from Ghana, West Africa. Life wasn’t easy! At the age of six, I was put into a mother role by taking care of my three younger brothers due to the abandons of our parents. We lived day-to-day wondering what and where our next meals will come from and constant curiosity if our parents would return. That all changed the year we entered this country. Besides my own family hardship, I watched many children in the community suffer from major and minor illnesses, hunger, consumption of poor water quality, etc. that could have been prevented.
On August 24th 2015, I embarked on a six months cross-cultural journey through United Planet (International nonprofit organization) to Ghana, West Africa, where I’ve been working alongside some amazing health care providers at St. Jude Medical Center in Kasoa. I’m not going to lie, it has been a DÉJÀ VU moments of my childhood.
I’ve come across young children without parents out on the streets in the scorching 90 plus degree sun begging for something small to eat and drink. I’ve witness others fast asleep on the hard dusty grounds in the middle of nowhere and many more. The hardship among these innocent children is unbelievably inhuman.
I’m reaching out to ALL in support of any type of funds. With the holidays fast approaching, I’m asking everyone to please help in making a child in Kasoa’s holiday as special as yours. Any donation will be kindly appreciated towards purchasing a bag of rice, water, cloths, toys, soccer balls, etc. Please help in anyway possible. I thank you in advance for any assistance. For any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Thank you,
Tova Tomasi
