Hello friends, as many of you are aware our dear friend Lori Marshall was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer in October 2019. The cancer originated in her breast and has spread to her liver and the membrane surrounding her brain.
As we can only imagine receiving a diagnosis of cancer is extremely overwhelming and life changing! From the get go Lori has been in good spirits & has had a very positive outlook. Lori, Lee, their extended family and her medical team are attacking the cancer with everything they’ve got. Lee has shared that Lori is receiving the absolute BEST care available to her.
There has been an outpouring of people that want to help the Marshall family in some way, which has led to me starting this Go Fund Me. Go Fund Me asks for a “goal” I am trying to reach, so one was set. I didn’t know how to put a price on my friend’s war with cancer. It felt impossible to come up with an amount that would adequately cover their needs! What I do know from experience is that cancer is an ever changing battle. There will be twists and turns. The Marshall family’s needs will likely change so, my plan is to adjust the “goal’ as necessary. Lori is currently unable to work and that has come with heavy impact and many challenges. Her fight will indeed be long, difficult and at times uncertain. There have already been many bumps in the road but they are determined to stay positive and not allow the obstacles to derail the fight! Please remember a donation in ANY amount is greatly appreciated. Your contribution(s) will be used for many things we all take for granted; groceries, food, gas, household expenses, etc. As a community I know that we can come together to ease some of the stress for our dear friends. I will be posting updates as I receive them to keep you all in the loop.
For those of you that don’t know Lori & her family directly, but want to donate because you care about some one that deeply cares about the Marshall family, here is some background on the family:
Lori grew up in La Habra, CA. She is a loyal friend, knows how to have a good time & is a straight shooter. Lori married her high school sweetheart Lee who she actually met in 2nd grade at Ladera Palma Elementary. They have been married for 15 years. Together they share two lovely children, Damon who will be 13 in March and Reese, 8 1/2. Lori is a high school English teacher at La Mirada High School and is a favorite among her students.
