Bring Jose Home

On Wednesday, 9/17, at around 10:30 AM, Jose Trujillo was illegally taken by ICE while driving a truck delivering furniture on the Skyway. He and his boss were pulled over by Indiana Police with lights, waving cars to pull off to the side of the road, and then allowed agents to move in on them and pull them out of their cars.

A phone call was received at approximately 1:15 AM on Friday from a family member saying they were told they needed to provide documentation in order for his release. He was taken to Broadview on Beach Street. The agents told him to make sure this information was delivered as soon as possible.

After 4 separate attempts, the requested documentation was delivered and taken by agents, though they implied this is information they already had.

When sharing he was illegally obtained and there is no basis on which he should have been arrested, the agent said, “This is a new government now. We have been advised that we can take ANYONE. These are the orders. Everyone will receive due process and speak to a judge. This is all the information I can give you.”

Jose is a father, a husband, a son, and a brother. He does not have a criminal record and has all the proper documents in place to support his legal status.

Funds are being raised to support his family and pay for legal representation. At this time, we do not know when or where he will be moved next and when he will be released.

It is critical he be supported by an attorney to have any chance of getting out.

The family is grateful for any support you’re able to offer.

God bless everyone and be safe.
