Many children, especially children who come from low-income families, never had the opportunity to learn about the different careers in the STEM field, because their schools don’t offer classes or clubs to introduce the field and they don't have relatives or mentors in the field.
STEM 4 ALL Brockton is a program founded on September 14th, 2019 for the low-income children living in the Brockton MASS area. The program is meant to introduce and stimulate kids to be interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The program would be a chance to educate children on the many careers in STEM, and provide them with new opportunities. This would not only introduce the kids but also the parents as well to the unexplored career fields in STEM.
This funding will carry out this mission of STEM For All Brockton by buying laptops, monitors, keyboards, raspberry pies, Arduinos, MakerBot, etc, so the children can be introduced to computer science, engineering, biology, chemistry, and much more in STEM field. These kids are the future of America, and this is your chance to help better the world with new brilliant minds. Please help us spread the knowledge, anything will help!
The program is broken into different topic sessions based on a varying age group and background knowledge. In the first session, children ages 10 to 14 discovered how to create their own Home Security System using raspberry pies. Please help us with our next discovery!
