Nizhoni is a sweet, goofy, smart and sassy 2-year-old. She is a daughter, big sister, niece, granddaughter, great-granddaughter and one of our greatest joys. We discovered she had two fast-growing tumors on her liver which turned out to be our worst nightmare, cancer. Hepatoblastoma is rare liver cancer that targets young children. To say we are devastated doesn't even come close to the nightmare our family is living at the moment. This will be a long, painful, and costly journey; while we hate to have to do this, her mom and dad will need help. Jess(mom) is a stay-at-home mom, and Caleb (dad) is on unpaid FMLA so that he can be with Ni during this time. Her treatment will be aggressive, and we are unsure how much insurance will actually pay on top of bills and money for travel to the hospital they are sending her to. They also have a newborn who will stay with Grandma and Aunt during the hospital stay. Any donations, prayers, or shares are so appreciated.

1/31 Here is an update on NiNi. It has been a rough few months, she has had several serious surgeries and procedures. She is fighting the fight of her life. Most of the time she doesn't want to eat because she is so sick from the chemo. She has lost all of her hair, at times has been barely able to talk and is overwhelmed with pain. The Surgeons had to remove half of her liver and her gallbladder. She has had so many complications from that surgery that she is still in the hospital 3 hours from home. Right now we are trying to avoid a transplant by putting a stent in her bile duct to help it drain. If this doesn't work we will have to think about a complete transplant which is the last thing we want for her.

The bills are starting to trickle in and the numbers are alarming. It should not cost you everything and then some to save your childs life. Dad works when he can but also has to travel which her for her treatment and surgeries, so funds are limited. Thank you for praying, sharing and donating.
