Nix Cancer Fight
Donazione protetta
How do you even begin to tell a story about trying to save your sisters life?
I don't think even the greatest writer would have the right words.
Here goes.
Today my sister was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer.
Basically 3 years to the day that our amazing father passed away from this terrible disease. How ironic but I somehow feel it was my dad pushing her to go see a doctor in someway or another.
Not only is my sister the worlds greatest sister but also an amazing wife and an incredible mother to the worlds greatest kids, that are so beautiful inside and out.
I'm reaching out to the world to ask to help pay for her treatment.
Nikki has medical insurance but not a full medical aid as she has never been sick one day in her entire life.
Her medical insurance said they would only cover R50 000 towards her treatment which wouldn't even cover the basic scans we have done.
So here I am on my knees asking the world to help me raise some money towards her treatment.
I know this isn't the greatest time with Covid raging through our world and knocking our economy, but one thing Covid has shown me as that we have become closer as a world.
Nikki has the biggest heart I have ever met, in my 37 years of being her sister, I have learnt so much from her, that we should love everyone in this world as much as we can and give everything we have to help others.
I remember a few years ago a homeless child walked into her office and asked for some money, his parents had been killed and he literally had no where else to go.
Nikki didn't give him money, but Nikki allowed him into her house and he became a son, she fed him, she clothed him, she schooled him and today Michael is a young man who has a chance in this world because of my sister.
The fact that my family has to face this cancer battle again so soon after losing our dad isn't fair and currently as I am typing this I am asking why her and why not me? She doesn't deserve this hard battle ahead of her.
I'm on my knees asking you to all help me to make this journey as easy as possible for her.
To Nikki I love you with all my heart and we will beat this together.
