Help Nivea Fight a Rare and Aggressive Cancer
Hello, my name is Marlo, and I’m here to ask for support for my one and only daughter, Nivea. At just 20 years old, Nivea has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of stage 3 cancer — Mesonephric-like Adenocarcinoma of the Uterus.
What we thought was going to be a routine procedure to remove a fibroid turned out to be something far more serious: a tumor the size of an orange, and ultimately, cancer. Our world was turned upside down in an instant.
Since her diagnosis, our lives have changed dramatically. I had to stop working immediately to be by Nivea’s side through a major surgery — a full hysterectomy — and now, she’s facing months of intensive treatment, including six rounds of chemotherapy, followed by 25 sessions of external radiation and several internal radiation treatments.
The financial toll has been heavy. Between medical bills, medications, travel expenses, equipment, and daily needs, we are struggling to keep up — and insurance simply doesn’t cover everything. I’ve returned to work at a new job on a second-shift schedule so I can still be with Nivea in the mornings for her treatments and appointments, but it's incredibly difficult to balance it all.
Nivea is currently being treated at the Community Cancer Institute in Clovis and will begin chemotherapy and radiation at Sequoia Regional Cancer Center in Visalia. After navigating through multiple doctors who dismissed her symptoms, she finally has a strong, caring medical team behind her.
Nivea is a fighter. She had to put her education at Porterville College on hold and may also pause her job as a sub-aide at the school district. Her strength through constant blood transfusions, ER visits, and now cancer treatment is nothing short of inspiring.
We are not the kind of family that asks for help easily — but right now, we need it. Every little bit helps us keep going, and most importantly, helps Nivea focus on healing and fighting without the added burden of financial stress. All funds received will go directly toward covering Nivea’s needs throughout her cancer journey — including medical expenses, medications, transportation, equipment, and any other support she may require during treatment and recovery.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your prayers, your support, and your generosity.
With gratitude,
Marlo & Family
