Woke up on Valentine’s Day morning to heartbreak. My perfect, fun loving, snuggly wonderful pup, all of sudden had issues walking. I hit the floor crying expecting worse. He wanted to walk, he wanted to be okay. Nitro was driven down island to VCA to the emergency vet to be assessed. After receiving pains meds and getting a small assessment the doctor recommend spinal surgery as soon as possible.

Nitro did not get to come home tonight, mom spent hours laying in the floor on at the pet hospital trying to keep Nitro calm and as relaxed as possible. After a very long day with hard decisions the best option for Nitro was clearly surgery as he is no longer able to walk. The doctor has high hopes that emergency surgery tomorrow will be a life saver for Nitro.

Nitro will have surgery on February 15th and hopefully get to come home 24 hours later. But that’s not the end of the road for Nitro, he will be on 2 weeks of strict bed rest with Rehab and doing physiotherapy with mom and dad to follow.

If anyone has met our boy they know what a wild, free loving and amazing baby he is. A 12 to 15 grand quote has been given to us and we will do anything to get him back to 100%. We can’t imagine him not being home with us and happy as he always is, please send him any well wishes or prayers! He needs a Valentine’s Day miracle and lots of rest at the hospital tonight.
