Hi,

This is a fundraiser for our dearest friend Nita and her daughter Sonya. Nita wears many hats - a dedicated single Mom, a great friend, a mentor, selfless caring health care professional; and she excels in each.

To all those of us who have had the privilege of meeting Nita, we can agree that she leaves an indelible impression. Whether in her counseling practice, as the Healing and Support Group mentor for women navigating divorce and related trauma, or as a friend offering a shoulder or a warm embrace, we have all been touched and inspired by her love, kindness, and courage.

Now it is our time to give back. Nita has been recently diagnosed with colon cancer. She has recently started chemotherapy and radiation sessions. She has a long, uphill journey in front of her, but she is not alone. She has the support of friends, family, and well-wishers like you.

This has been very traumatizing and Sonya has returned from Boston University to study online while she helps her mother through this period.

Sonya is a junior studying computer science at BU.

We aim to raise $72,000 to help with the huge expenses that Nita will not be able to handle on her own.

Nita is so touched and overwhelmed by the show of support to all her family, friends, and colleagues who have reached out and offered to help in any way possible. She is truly grateful for your support. We hope you will donate generously to support her during this time of need.
