Hi
my name is Nissoka. This is my Buddhist name- which means ‘ without grief’. I have Huntingtons disease and a spinal injury sustained whilst serving on duty in the army in Botswana in a terrible jeep accident when I was 21 . I have had a chronic spinal injury for over 30 years due to this accident and was discharged from the army for these life changing sustained injuries . I live in constant pain .
I became an ordained Buddhist after my Huntingtons disease diagnosis aged 30. I have gone on pilgrimage for over 25 years to Bodghaya , Bihar, India,, where the Buddha got enlightened. This inspiring temple and the site of his enlightenment helps to sustain my Buddhist practice and helps me to accept my path with a degenerative neurological and spinal injury. I also meet with dear friends , from over the years. This year, I am trying to raise funds for my airfare, accommodation and food. I need carers too to help me wherever I go and these costs must also be covered. I appreciate any financial support that can be offered and thank you very much for any help towards this important trip .
