When my mother finally got a steady job after years and years of struggling, I was so ecstatic as I concluded my sophomore year at CSU Monterey Bay. Years down the road, one month before the start of my last semester to be more precise, this new income would be the reason I'd be stripped of all my financial aid.
While my mother has a steady income, she also has a soon-to-be high school graduate also going to college who will also get no financial aid, another daughter to help with bills as she is currently unemployed, along with bills of her own and day-to-day living expenses that have not been taken into account in regards to my financial aid.
Family, friends, and anyone who just so happens to come across this GoFundMe, I am reaching out to you in an attempt to help me pay for my tuition, books, and housing fees. The $3200 I am asking for is solely my tuition, not everything else, because I figure if I can at least get that paid, or a portion of that, by the grace of God, everything else will fall into place.
Becoming the first in my family to graduate from a four year university has been my goal for the past 16 years, so the possiblity that denial of financial aid could bring all of my hard work to a skreeching hault, this close to the finish line, is so heart breaking. I am well aware that we all have our own goals, expenses, and lives to pay for. I am more than understanding if you cannot aid in my finishing of this chapter of my education. A sharing of this post along with a referral, or even encouraging words if nothing else would be greatly appreciated.
I am truly blessed to have such a supportive group of people in my life regardless of if I know you or not. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart and recognize that I would not be where I am today without each and every one of you.
