Four pugs fighting for their health

In the last few months, we've had several pugs come into the rescue with expensive medical issues. Our goal is to get these pugs ready for adoption and to always help any pug in need. Please continue to help us spread the word and raise funds. This page includes updates for Peggy Sue, Tucker, Coco and Harley. So much pug love!

Please allow us to introduce Mama Peggy Sue and her handsome son, Tucker. They recently found their way to NIPRA and have stolen our hearts. Before they can land in their forever happily after home, we need to get them feeling better. This family deserves a second chance together!
From their foster momma: Tucker is a great little boy, good attitude, tries very hard to move and be part of everything. When he barks or cries, Mama Peggy Sue comes running and will sit by him until he calms down. They both are very sweet, kind, loving and affectionate pugs. Nothing gets those two down! Tucker likes to ride in the stroller and he is getting better at his cart.
To date we (NIPRA) have spent $1,000 on medical bills and expect at least another $2,250 and likely more due to the need for an MRI and dental procedures. As their care continues we'll keep everyone updated on progress and any additional needs. Here are their issues:
Tucker
* Bilateral ear infections - treated already by NIPRA
* UTI - treated already by NIPRA
* Nails so long growing into pads :( - treated already by NIPRA
* Dental surgery and cleaning - will be treating in the future by NIPRA
Spinal issues - ongoing care needed by NIPRA
* Xrays were taken, shows narrowing of his lower thoracic spine and upper lumbar spine.
* Chiropratic treatment and water therapy started
* Tucker has an appointment with the neurologist on 5/30 and will likely need an MRI which can cost $2,000 - $4,000.

Every day they continue to improve and enjoying the snugness of their loving foster home. They are both very sweet, loving, kind and gentle pugs (that love to play with stuffed toys, too)!
