Emergency: 19 Families Facing Eviction in Bryan, TX
On August 8th, Sweet Oak Collaborative was asked to help 19 families at Roadrunner RV Park in Bryan, TX who have been told they must leave their homes by August 28th — or their RVs will be demolished.
These are our neighbors: parents, children, seniors, and disabled individuals, many living paycheck-to-paycheck, some in RVs too old or fragile to be moved without major repairs. Some own their RVs but have no money for relocation costs. Others wish to move into apartments but face steep barriers like deposits, background checks, or credit issues.
The city’s Building and Standards Commission has deemed the RV structures "unsafe", and ordered a full vacate. While the park’s owner is appealing, families can’t wait — they face losing everything in less than three weeks.
We need your help to keep families from being homeless.
Your donation will go directly toward:
Moving costs and towing for RVs that can be saved
Urgent repairs so RVs can be relocated
Deposits and first month’s rent for apartments
Temporary shelter in motels for families with nowhere else to go
Groceries and essentials for those waiting on benefits
Demolition and debris removal for abandoned or unsafe units
There’s no set goal here — every single dollar raised will help a family take the next step toward safety and stability. Whether it’s $10 or $1,000, your contribution will have a direct and immediate impact.
We also need:
Spanish-speaking volunteers to help with family intakes
Leads on affordable housing or RV spaces
Advocacy to city officials for deadline extensions
Time is running out. We have less than three weeks to act.
Please give today, and please share this campaign so more people know what’s happening. Together, we can make sure no family is left on the street.
