Dance has been a part of my life since I was 9 years old. It’s more than movement to me — it’s what saved me, grounded me, and gave me purpose when I needed it most. Through dance, I found confidence, discipline, and a voice, and over the years I’ve used that same passion to help and uplift others.
I began teaching dance as early as middle school — from pep rallies, clubs, studios, and schools to classes for kids, teens, and adults. I don’t claim to be a perfect leader, but I show up with heart, intention, and a deep love for my community. Giving back has always mattered to me, especially to the people and places that believed in me before I believed in myself.
One of my biggest challenges has always been finances. I don’t want money to be the reason I stop reaching for my dreams or limit how far I can go. Dance has opened so many doors for me, and now that I’m working professionally, I feel a strong pull to push myself even further — to grow, to learn, and to step outside my comfort zone instead of settling where it feels safe.
It’s been years since I’ve had the opportunity to receive proper training. I’ve learned a lot where I am, but I know there’s only so much growth that can happen when you stay in one place. Attending a dance camp has always been a dream of mine, and this summer, Summer Jam is hosting their camp nearby in Vietnam — an opportunity that feels aligned, challenging, and transformative.
This experience isn’t just about improving my hip-hop skills. It’s about sharpening my technique, experiencing intensity and pressure, connecting with dancers from different backgrounds, and immersing myself in a community that understands dance as a journey, not just a class. I want to learn, be uncomfortable, be inspired, and come back stronger.
Most importantly, I want to bring everything I gain from this experience back home — to my island, to my community, and to the dancers who never had the chance to dream this big. I want to put my name on the map not just for myself, but for those who came before me and those who will come after.
I will never take your support for granted. Every bit of knowledge, experience, and growth I gain from this camp will be poured back into my work, my teaching, and my community. I promise to make every second count.
Thank you for believing in me, supporting my journey, and helping me go farther than I ever thought possible.
