Nina’s First Month in Korea
Donation protected
Most of you reading this know that I went back to school in 2019 so that I could eventually teach English in South Korea. After some time and monetary setbacks (pandemic, cross-country move, the death of my father, and foot surgery), I was finally ready to apply to schools this past August. Not only was I accepted into a school I wanted, I was offered a position in the city (Seoul) and neighborhood (Songa-gu) of my choice. That almost never happens on the first try.
I have to be in Korea on November 4th for training and I begin work on November 27th. My problem is that I will not receive my first paycheck until December 25th, but I’ll need to pay for a place to live and other expenses before then. The school suggests arriving with $2,500 for that reason, but my current income (podcasting) is already going towards my current living expenses (rent, bills, groceries, etc.) for my family remaining in Georgia.
I am asking for help in raising that $2,500 to cover my first month’s rent, food, transportation, and housing needs (at least a bed). Any assistance would be appreciated and helps me to finally be in a position to be there for all of you the way so many of you have been there for me through these last few trying years.
