Nina&Joey-Help a Palestinian family get settled in Missouri

My name is Nina and my husband is Joey, and we are the loving parents of a four year old and a new baby.

We were forced to leave our home in Palestine and all of our work behind because of the war in 2023. The violence and destruction made it impossible to stay, and we feared for our safety every day. We lost our home, our jobs, and everything we had worked so hard to build. With great difficulty, we came to Missouri in the United States seeking safety and a chance to rebuild our lives here.

It has been a very difficult transition, and we are doing our best to start over from nothing in a new and unfamiliar country. We have had support of new friends in the US helping us learn how to navigate life here, have found a place to live, and are enrolling our children in preschool and daycare, however we arrived with nothing since we had to leave most of our lives and possessions behind. We don’t have furniture in our home, and we are living without health insurance or basic necessities.

We need help with basic needs to get our family safe and settled here so we can begin our lives again and our children can thrive. Basic furniture, health insurance for our family, get the car we have working safely and insured, medical treatments for our children, and childcare and school supplies for them.

Car repairs and insurance: $700 dollars

Medical treatment for the kids: $800

House furniture and clothes for all of us: $1000

Baby bed and mattress: $200

PreSchool fees for the whole year with registration and transportation: $4800

Rental fees: 1350

Lawyer: 2000

Urgent bills to start basic utilities and services: 500
