I got the heartbreaking - terrifying diagnosis of breast cancer and I will have to be strong. I am 33 years old and the mother of 4 wonderful children. I work hard to provide for them. They are easy going kids, they are grateful kids, so its only natural that I want to give them the world. My version of giving them the world is being there for them through everything, at every event, spending time with them, playing basketball, duck duck goose, swinging on monkey bars. I need to beat this, I need to focus on the fight ahead.
Money is tight, even before this diagnosis but the bills still need to be paid. I have been at my job for less than one year and have not accrued a substantial amount of time off. I will have surgery and this will cause me to miss some time from work. I will still need to pay bills, buy food -just support a household. I am scared for this to create a major financial crisis and shift my focus when my main concern should be beating cancer and my children. My kids are still young and are constantly growing, I need to buy spring and summer clothes for my kids, so many things that are needed that will have to be postponed. I am scared to lose my apartment and to ultimately end up unable to feed my family. I can't go bankrupt while fighting breast cancer at 33 years old.
Life can throw you for a loop sometimes, I was pursuing a degree in nursing and have to withdraw from my classes to prepare for the biggest battle of my life. I need help and I appreciate any help given.
I just want to be able to focus on surviving cancer to be able to be there for my children and not money.
