My name is Alina Petri and I am the only child God has blessed my mother, Nina Still with. My mom was someone I always looked up to, she was my idol and my hero.
Althogh getting married at a young age and having me at the age of 18, she continued to go to school, earning a Masters Degree and becoming a Chief Accountant at the age of 26 of a major bank in Ukraine.
She wanted me to have a better life so she decided to take a huge step in her life and move us to United States leaving everything she accomplished behind. She was 30 years old and I was only 11. We went through many trials and tribulations moving to this country and not knowing the language. Looking back on it makes me admire my mom more and more.
It breaks my heart so much saying that my mom is no longer with us after losing a long hard battle to cancer that she tried to beat for almost two years. She was suffering so much towards the end of her life and her body gave up as she no longer could cling on to life.
She had the smile and energy that could light up an entire room. My mom is loved and remembered by so many people. Even though she is no longer with us physically, her spirit will continue to live in our hearts forever.
We will all miss her so much. God gained an angel that will watch over us till we meet again.
I love you mom! There will never pass a day that you are not on my mind. Your legacy will continue to live through me till you meet me at the Gates of Heaven. I miss you with all of my heart and soul.
