Nina's Hand-Painted Clothing Studio
Donation protected
I have a home based business creating hand-painted clothing which I sell at local markets and a soon to be launched online business.

Being home-based is very important to me and my husband. I love having my work and kids at home. But Mom needs a circle of cleanliness and clear workspace boundary to be able to focus.
Right now I do not have a dedicated space. Moving work from back porch to kitchen table. Family flows in and around the work.
I have a plan conceived by my architect friend, Ana Gallo, a skilled carpenter and myself. The plan includes screening in a section of our existing back porch, adding a low wall to protect again wind and rain and hanging long, clear vinyl curtains that can be pulled shut during rainy or cold weather. I also need outlets to plug in space heaters, lights and a small AC.
A studio will help me meet the growing customer base for my designs by setting aside a dedicated workspace -- more time for painting instead of cleaning and setting up. No evening mosquitoes, or rained out days -- no frozen fingers -- no sharing my workspace with my children wanting to eat dinner! Plus a workshop I can invite folks into and close for quiet focus.
My business is young but growing fast. I want to keep the focus on slow, hand worked fashion made with love.
I hope to raise enough by March 15 to begin work before the Texas heat settles in for a long summer. But anytime will be wonderful. If a miracle happens and you help me raise more than what is needed for the studio, I'll use the extra towards building inventory and other supplies.
Any amount is greatly appreciated. This business has been built from my own dreams and the shared excitement and support of my friends and customers. My work is a collaboration between artist, nature, love and wearer. The studio is too.
Please spread the word far and wide! I will be mailing out thank yous and gifts. And a big Texas THANK YOU!
