My name is Erica Sternin and I'm fundraising to support my island neighbor, Nina Hutcheson. Nina has been managing a severe case of Long COVID since September 2023. There is currently no clear treatment path for recovery, which, at best, can take many months, and may even take years. We do not have a timeline for how long we will be supporting Nina.

Many people on Waldron have been helping Nina with practicalities, but we now see a need for monetary support as Nina has been unable to work for the past 4 months and will not be able to support herself for the indefinite future.

In accepting our support I hope Nina can feel the web of community that holds her up through this difficult time. The funds will help:

My hope is that our contributions will give Nina peace of mind as she seeks recovery, and that she will know that we stand by her even though she can’t actively contribute or participate in the ways we know she wants to.
