Nimbus Needs Help!

Hi, my name is Mary, and my sweet kitten Nimbus needs help! He is my emotional service animal and loves chasing straws and playing in the shower. We remarked that we did not realize we weren't smiling much before we got him. After, we smile and laugh all day.
This past Saturday, we left for an overnight trip, and when we got back, he was very sick. He had not eaten a thing and barely moved. We figured Nimbus had just worried himself sick. We waited a day for him to recover, but he only got worse. Missing class, we drove him an hour away to the closest available pet hospital. They took him back immediately, over the long line of waiting pets.
They took an x-ray and some labs, finding he had an intestinal obstruction and severe dehydration. They hoped he might pass the blockage if they rehydrated him with intense therapy. After 12 hours of trying, we got a call at 3 am. He was getting worse and needed surgery.
Later that morning, we got another call saying there were some complications after the surgery. Nimbus' lungs had filled with fluid because his heart was sick. He couldn't breathe well, so he needed to be in an oxygen cage and take medications. This was the worst 48 hours of my life. By this point, he had not eaten in 6 days.
But eventually, we got a call. Nimbus was breathing easier, drank so much water they had to take it away from him, and licked a bit of tuna. He's not out of the ballpark but is on his road to recovery!
We desperately need your help with the medical bill. My husband and I are both in college, and we paid with our tuition money. He is the sweetest cat ever, and we are so grateful Nimbus, our little angel, is coming back to us.
